Website cookies

Cookies are small text files that are saved in your browser when you visit a website. The purpose of cookies is to maintain certain user preferences (e.g. language) for a certain period of time. In this way, you do not need to make the same selections again when you move from one page to another during the same session.

Some of the cookies used on the integration.fi website are necessary to ensure the performance of the website. The necessary cookies ensure the technical functionality of the website, and they are not intended for any other purposes. Connections to the website are always secure (https).

The data collected is not used for marketing, and tracking data is not disclosed outside the Government. Only Finnish ministries have access to the tracking data of other ministries, which they use to improve their online communications.

Cookies may also be set by third parties whose service content is shown on our website as embed-dings (embeddings in social media channels).

Technical log data on the website and telecommunications connections

Technical log data is collected on the use of the website and the telecommunications connections used to access it. This data is necessary for the provision of the online service and for ensuring information security.

The log data includes information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as their IP address and timestamp. The log data is only used to enable the provision of the service via the telecommunications network and to investigate any disruptions and information security incidents.

Processing personal data related to the provision of the online service and ensuring information security is necessary for the Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration to comply with the legal obligation to which it as a controller is subject under the General Data Protection Regulation.

The centre’s  online services are provided by Valtori. Valtori’s partner Cloudflare Inc. utilises one per cent of the visitor log data to improve their service. The data is transferred to the United States for this purpose. The legal basis for the transfer of data is the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
