Integration 2026 project

Integration 2026 is an event-based project focusing on integration themes. The project will organise a national Integration 2026 event between 28 and 29 October 2026, in Vantaa, Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport Congress Centre.

The event is aimed at integration professionals in different organisations, such as authorities, educators, teachers, guidance and counselling providers, parties involved in organisations, associations, and companies. An estimated 800 participants are expected to attend the event on site, and there will also be remote participants. The project will be implemented between 1 September 2025 and 28 February 2027.

The Integration 2026 event offers lectures, speeches, expert discussions, interactive activities, and exhibitor display booths. At their display booths, parties involved in integration present their activities and good practices.

Programme will be available in Finnish, Swedish, and English. The programme highlights different aspects of integration: employment, education and skills, inclusion, wellbeing, and societal receptiveness. In addition, the themes of the event emphasise learning the national language, the position of stay-at-home parents, and the immigrants’ own activity. The event communications are centralised on the integration2026.fi pages included in kotoutuminen.fi.

The event and its programme are planned based on the principles of co-creation and partnership. Other authorities, educators, educational institutions, organisations, and companies involved in promoting integration are involved in the preparation.

The aim is to share good practices in the integration field and to strengthen societal receptiveness

The aim is to improve the competence and professional skills of integration experts, to increase the knowledge base of integration, to promote good relations between population groups and anti-racist work, and to increase networks and partnerships. This helps improve the quality and effectiveness of integration work.

In addition, the project highlights phenomena in the integration field and networks, current challenges, promotes ethical labour-based immigration, and provides up-to-date information on integration and refugee reception, based on domestic and international research. The project collects and shares good practices in the field, increases societal receptiveness, and promotes two-way integration.

The Integration 2026 project is implemented by the City of Vantaa together with the Development and Administration Services Centre for ELY Centres (KEHA Centre) and the Integration Partnership Programme. The project steering group also includes the Wellbeing Services County of Vantaa and Kerava, Sahan-seura ry, Startup Refugees ry, Moniheli ry, and the Ami Foundation.

The Integration 2026 project is co-funded by the EU Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF).
