The Development and Administrative Centre for the ELY Centres and TE Offices (KEHA Centre) organises and provides joint development and administrative services in cooperation with agencies, ministries and other parties in accordance with mutually agreed strategies and under the guidance of the ministries, in particular the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
Under the Integration Act, the KEHA Centre is responsible for the following with regard to the promotion of the integration and settling in of immigrants:
- monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and functioning of integration promotion and producing information on it;
- producing information on integration promotion
- supporting national expertise and service development and service coordination in integration promotion;
- providing legal advice relating to the implementation of the Integration Act and providing other support to municipalities and other integration promotion actors in promoting integration and settling in at the national level;
- duties relating to the processing and payment of reimbursement applications;
- duties of the information system controller.
The KEHA Centre can also serve as a government grant authority with regard to tasks related to the promotion of integration.
