Tasks of the wellbeing services counties 

Under the Integration Act, wellbeing services counties are responsible for the following with regard to the integration of immigrants in their respective regions: 

  • organisation of healthcare and social welfare services;
  • obligation to take part, when necessary, in assessments of skills and the need for integration services;
  • obligation to take part, when necessary, in preparing integration plans in cooperation with the municipality and the immigrant;
  • duties concerning the organisation of housing and support for children and young people;
  • duties concerning the representative of an unaccompanied minor.

Wellbeing services counties shall ensure that their services also suit the needs of immigrants. Wellbeing services counties shall also attend to enhancing the expertise of their own personnel in integration promotion.
