Providing psychosocial support for unaccompanied minors in family group homes and support housing units

The handbook on psychosocial support for unaccompanied minors in family group homes and support housing units is intended for persons working with unaccompanied minors in family group homes and support housing units.

For unaccompanied underage asylum seekers, family group homes and support housing units are key environments for growth and development. Psychosocial support helps children and young people to move forward in a new and challenging situation.

The handbook will help you in your work

The purpose of the handbook is to improve the skills of people working in housing units for underage asylum seekers in psychosocial support and enhance their trauma awareness. Supporting the growth, development, education and integration of children and young people is a core activity for family group homes and support housing units.

We hope that the handbook will help to create a common basis and shared understanding for all individuals engaged in this core activity. Models of initial briefings, self-instructor activities and the rules of the housing units are appended to the handbook.

Note! The content of the handbook is partially out of date, and the content will be updated during 2024.
