Calculated compensation is generally paid automatically, while some forms of compensation must be applied for separately through the Regional Administration e-service.

Provisions on reimbursement to municipalities, wellbeing services counties and Åland's public healthcare services are issued in the Act on the Promotion of Immigrant Integration (681/2023) and in the government decree on the reimbursement from state funds of costs incurred from the promotion of integration to municipalities, wellbeing services counties and Åland's public healthcare services (VNA 872/2024).

The Development and Administrative Services Centre (KEHA Centre) is responsible for the payment of reimbursement under the Integration Act to municipalities, wellbeing services counties and Åland's public healthcare services. Imputed specified transfers to municipalities, wellbeing services counties and Åland's public healthcare services are handled automatically.

Reimbursement of costs from reception preparations, social assistance and special costs must be applied for with separate applications through the local government e-service. Municipalities, wellbeing services counties and Åland's public healthcare services  must apply for reimbursement no later than two years after the end of the calendar year during which the action for which reimbursement is sought took place.

Municipalities, wellbeing services counties and Åland's public healthcare services  also apply for decisions on the reimbursement of special costs from the Economic Development Centre and submit any requested supplementary information through the local government e-service.
Only authorised persons can submit an application through the local government e-service.
