Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVIs) are responsible for the planning, steering and supervision of measures and services that promote and support immigrant integration in matters that are within their remit.
AVIs ensure that the needs of immigrants are taken into account when other measures and services falling within the remit of AVIs are planned and organised. AVIs cooperate with the ELY Centres in the areas coming under them.
In the activities of AVIs, the specific needs of immigrants should mainly be taken into account in health and social services, in education, training and cultural services, and when the accessibility and quality of services provided by municipalities are assessed.
Regional State Administrative Agencies are also responsible for supervising the accessibility of digital and online services. Accessible digital and online services make it easier for immigrants and foreign-language speakers living in Finland to access information.
