‘New in integration work’ course now available

In autumn 2023, the Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Action plan for referral of refugees to municipalities (AMIF) organised a three-part introductory course on integration work. The series of courses is now available as a subtitled recording.

The series is in Finnish and provides information on services promoting integration, tasks of integration operators, multidisciplinary nature of the work, interaction with clients and promotion of equality. The course is based on the Integration Act currently in force. The new Integration Act, which will enter into force in 2025, will be discussed in other events of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

The introductory course in meant for those who have recently begun working with integration, immigration or reception of refugees, or who would like to revise the topic. The course is targeted, in particular, at those working with integration issues in municipalities and wellbeing services counties, but it is open to all those involved in integration, including volunteers and others interested in the theme.
The course recordings with subtitles are available at the YouTube channel of the Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration @kotoutumisenosaamiskeskus

The presentations used in the speeches of the courses are available in the course workspace of Partnership Platform (Uusi kotoutumistyössä -koulutussarja, ‘New in integration work’ course series). Using the Partnership Platform requires a registration and log-in to the platform, after which you can join the course workspace. The presentations can be found under the Materials tab.

We also provide an information package on useful materials and sources for new professionals in integration and refugee reception:
