Number of integration plans falls from the early part of the year
In June, there were 46,709 unemployed foreign jobseekers, which accounts for 16 per cent of all unemployed jobseekers. The number of first integration plans fell from the first quarter of 2024. This drop may be due to seasonal variation as, of all quarters, the least number of first integration plans are usually drawn up in the second quarter of the year.
The figures in the Employment Bulletin for June 2024 show that:
- In June, the number of unemployed foreign jobseekers totalled 46,709, which is 16 per cent of all unemployed jobseekers. The number of unemployed foreign jobseekers increased 18 per cent (7,115 persons) from the previous year.
- In the second quarter of 2024, a total of 4,721 first integration plans were prepared for clients of TE services.
- The number of first integration plans fell from the first quarter of 2024, but it was still higher than in the second quarter of 2023. This decrease could be caused by seasonal variation: of all quarters, the least number of first integration plans are usually drawn up in the second quarter.
- In the second quarter of 2024, a total of 1,358 plans were drawn up for Ukrainians, which is 29 per cent of all plans. However, the growing number of plans for Ukrainians only partly explains the recent increase in the number of first integration plans.
- According to the Labour Force Survey, the employment rate of foreigners was 60.6 per cent in the first quarter of 2024.
- The figure remained approximately at the same level as at the end of 2023, which may indicate that the bottom of the fall in the employment rate, caused by the economic downturn, has been reached. The employment rate of foreigners remained markedly higher in the first half of 2023 than before the coronavirus crisis.
On the basis of the register data of the Employment Service Statistics and the survey data of the Labour Force Survey, the Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration publishes a monthly review of employment among foreign citizens and foreign-language speakers and of their participation in employment promotion services.
