Koto-digi and knowledge management

The Koto-digi initiative includes a separate project for knowledge management objectives. Koto-digi's knowledge management project is working to ensure that the national integration customer data system will in future provide systematic and comprehensive monitoring and evaluation data on integration and its promotion. The customer data system will be designed to add value to the monitoring and evaluation of integration at the municipal, regional, and national levels.

Koto-digi is part of the broader development of knowledge management at the KEHA-Centre

Knowledge management in the Koto-digi project is closely linked to the KEHA-Centre's growing role as a knowledge producer in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland. The KEHA-Centre is running a knowledge management project for TE and integration services to ensure that the Employment Services' new Job Marketplace system also provides comprehensive, up-to-date, and reliable monitoring data for decision-makers, authorities, and research purposes. As a large proportion of the people in the services are jobseekers, the information from the Job Marketplace system also contains essential information on integration.

There is a close partnership between the TE and integration services’ own knowledge management project and the Koto-digi knowledge management project. This cooperation provides a more complete picture of those people seeking work not included in the integration system and the services available to them.

There are many issues, opportunities, and problems to be addressed and considered in the acquisition, storage, sharing, and utilisation of data. Questions arise, for example, about what kind of data is worth acquiring, what uncertainties are involved in collecting the data, how to interpret the data, and what risks are involved in collecting and publishing the data. These issues will be considered and addressed in the above-mentioned projects, in cooperation with stakeholders.
