The ministry started the preparation of the reform of integration services

Changes will be made to the Integration Act and the integration system in the reform to shift the focus of the system from an emphasis on the rights of immigrants to an emphasis on their own obligations and responsibilities. In connection with the project, a comprehensive reform of training that promotes integration and language skills will be implemented. The system will become more efficient and funding will be brought under a single umbrella.

To support the preparation, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has launched a study on funding models for training promoting the integration and language skills of immigrants. The study will be carried out by Owal Group and completed in February 2025. The Government aims to submit a proposal for the reform during the autumn 2025.
