Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has published a brochure on employees’ rights for those coming to work in Finland
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment published a brochure on employees’ rights for those who come to work in Finland today. At the same time, the Ministry launched a multilingual counselling service for seasonal workers arriving from abroad.
The Working in Finland brochure, which has been produced in cooperation with Victim Support Finland RIKU and other stakeholders, describes the working conditions that need to be followed in Finland. In addition, the brochure offers advice to workers who have become victims of exploitation.
The brochure has been published in seven languages and it will be distributed by Finnish missions and the Finnish Immigration Service. The brochure is also available online to print.
The multilingual counselling service will begin its operations on Thursday 17 June and it is available on weekdays until Friday 10 September. RIKU is responsible for the practical operation of the counselling service. The service is available on the phone and various messaging services. The service is available in Finnish, Swedish, Russian and English, and assistance is also available in other languages with the help of an interpreter.

ELA campaign on the rights of seasonal workers launched
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is also participating in the #Rights4AllSeasons campaign of the European Labour Authority (ELA), which highlights the rights of seasonal workers. The campaign will start on 15 June across Europe.
