Researchers provide material to support decision-making and examine integration and the reception of refugees as a societal phenomenon. The databases, statistical reviews and publications of the Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration cover different themes extensively.

The integration database The integration database is an open statistics database based on register that provides comprehensive information on the immigrant population in Finland.
Integration Indicators database The Integration Indicators database is an open statistics database based on register and survey data. It is used to monitor the state and development of integration in Finland.
Publications The Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration orders and implements reports and studies on immigration, integration and reception of refugees.
Priority areas in the promotion of integration Programmes promoting integration, multi-sectoral cooperation and partnerships of different operators relate to the legislation that guides the promotion of integration.
Municipal integration programmes This section contains municipal integration programmes, as well as some information on regional integration work.
Integration Partnership Programme The aim of the partnership programme is to discover, identify and support cooperation opportunities that promote integration work.

New comprehensive review of integration has been published

The comprehensive review 2023 provides an overview of the current state of integration in Finland. The publication consists of two parts, the first of which describes changes in the state of integration compared with the situation four years ago based on indicator data. The second part consists of research articles.
Report: Multilingual civic orientation requires cooperation between municipalities

Organising multilingual civic orientation cost-effectively requires cooperation between municipalities as well as cross-regional and national coordination. Orientation organised remotely or as hybrid events could help immigrants living in sparsely populated areas to participate in the instruction. A report commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment in May 2023 includes recommendations on how to implement the orientation in a high-quality and uniform manner across Finland.

The Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment is involved in funding national research conducted by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) that focuses on the health and wellbeing of people born abroad as well as services they use (MoniSuomi). The collection of data for the MoniSuomi survey, which aims to promote the equality of Finland’s immigrant population, began at the start of September. 
Updated Welcome to Finland guide published

An updated Welcome to Finland guide has been published. The guide, which had become outdated in terms of its content, was updated in cooperation with the InfoFinland online service and the authorities in autumn 2021 and spring 2022. Statutory distributors have received updated instructions for ordering and distributing the guide. Other bodies can order a Welcome to Finland postcard that directs their customers to read the guide on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. In connection with the update, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment will publish new language versions of the brochure in Ukraine and Vietnam.
