Under the Act on the Promotion of Immigrant Integration, an ELY Centre may appoint a regional committee for immigration matters.
The task of the committees is to develop and plan the integration of immigrants and to promote non-discrimination and they may also have other tasks related to immigration.
The committee may also come under the auspices of more than one ELY Centre and it may include representatives of at least the Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI), the Regional Council, the largest municipalities receiving immigrants and refugees in the region, non-governmental organisations and other regional parties.
