An updated Welcome to Finland guide has been published. The guide, which had become outdated in terms of its content, was updated in cooperation with the InfoFinland online service and the authorities in autumn 2021 and spring 2022. Statutory distributors have received updated instructions for ordering and distributing the guide. Other bodies can order a Welcome to Finland postcard that directs their customers to read the guide on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. In connection with the update, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment will publish new language versions of the brochure in Ukraine and Vietnam.

The guide has been published in 12 languages. The brochure is available in 15 languages. A printed guide will be available in Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian. The versions in other languages, i.e. Estonian, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Persian, Somali and Turkish, are available on online. The brochures are also available in Thai, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

Welcome to Finland is an information package referred to in the Act on the Promotion of Immigration Integration

The Welcome to Finland guide is an information package referred to in the Act on the Promotion of Immigration Integration. The Act obligates the authorities to provide information about the Finnish society to those moving to Finland. The guide is only available from statutory bodies, i.e. the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, the Finnish Immigration Service, and Finnish missions abroad. People moving to Finland can receive the guide when they are granted a residence permit, register their right of residence, receive a residence card or register at their local register office and in the Population Information System.

Other bodies can order a Welcome to Finland postcard to distribute to their customers. The card directs them to read the guide on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The guide is published at www.tem.fi/en/welcome-to-finland on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

The material for Welcome to Finland and its language versions are based on the InfoFinland website

The material for the updated edition of Welcome to Finland and its language versions are based on the InfoFinland online service. Cooperation with InfoFinland makes it easier for authorities to check and update information for the guide and online service efficiently.

The authorities with integration responsibilities each update the InfoFinland material together with the editors of InfoFinland. The Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment co-ordinates the updating and distribution of the guide.

A leaflet has also been published as a Welcome to Finland material. The leaflet has been published in all the languages of the guide. In addition, the leaflet is now available in Thai, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. The leaflet contains important information for immigrants in a compact form and guides the readers to consult the full guide online at the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

Sissy Oy created the visual identity and layout of the guide. Grano Oy is responsible for printing.

Immediately after the updated guide has been published, the Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration will start developing the Welcome to Finland material. Competent authorities, integration operators and immigrants will be invited to participate in this work later. The aim is to create an up-to-date basic information material that serves different needs and target groups.
