The Act on the Promotion of Immigrant Integration contains a provision on the Government Integration Programme. In accordance with it, the Government will decide how the promotion of integration will be developed at national level by formulating a programme that includes the objectives and measures for the duration of the Government term (Government Integration Programme, VALKO).

An integration programme is a service package for the early stages of integration organised by municipalities. The objective of the services included in an integration programme is to promote the immigrant’s integration, employment or entrepreneurship, skills and working life competencies.

4.8.2021 | Kompetenscentret för integration av invandrare har beställt en utredning om kommunernas program för integrationsfrämjande. Syftet med utredningen är att skapa en helhetsbild av innehållet i och processerna för utarbetandet av integrationsprogrammen och programmens betydelse för det integrationsfrämjande arbetet lokalt och regionalt. Utredningen genomförs av konsult- och forskningsbolaget Innolink tillsammans med Migrationsinstitutet.
