The Act on the Promotion of Immigrant Integration (hereinafter, the Integration Act) aims to strengthen immigrants’ employment, capacity to work and language skills, and to increase their participation in society. Another objective of the Act is to promote equality, non-discrimination and positive interaction between different population groups.

26.3.2026 | The KEHA Centre has published an updated version of the reference architecture for promoting integration at the municipal level. The update was necessary as the operating environment of integration has changed significantly due to the entry into force of the new Integration Act on 1 January 2025, the establishment of the employment areas and wellbeing services counties, and the related legislative amendments.

19.12.2024 | On 19 December 2024, the Government issued three decrees, which specify in more detail the content of the new Integration Act. The new Act will enter into force at the beginning of 2025. The decrees concern the amount of imputed compensation, the assessment of skills and the need for integration services, and the national integration data repository.
